Guns, Germs, and Steel the fates of human societies by Jared Diamond? and if so on page 25 he discusses the whole premise of his book "History followed different courses for different peoples because of differences among peoples' environments, not because of biological differences among peoples themselves" however he completely contradicts himself with what he says on page 21 "That is, in mental ability New Guineans are probably genetically superior to Westerners" and then he goes on to say on page 22 "Why did New Guineans wind up technologically primitive, despite what I believe to be their superior intelligence" and this was a pulitzer prize winner
