I have to read the book entitled The Great Influenza by John Barry and complete discussion questions. The questions we have to answer are (1) Discuss the initial behavior of government agencies and officials related to the "Spanish Flue" and how those decisions impacted the spread of the virus both in the U.S. and abroad. (2) The mortality rate among what demographic group was most surprising during the 1918 influenza pandemic? Discuss how a pandemic flue today might affect the U.S. (3) Describe medical education in America in 1900's and include your opinion of it (4) Do you feel that we are ready and equipped to handle a pandemic flu today in the US and why? These are just some of the questions we have to address. It's an interesting book & I wanted to know other people's outlook...
