Has anyone read the book China Empire and Civilization by Edward L. Shaughnessy?

I read this book and have to write a paper on it and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on key points I could focus on in my paper or some main points you thought the book focused on. I was thinking to talk a little bit about the dynasties and religions because that seemed to be somewhat of a focus. Thanks!
 
Why not pick two consecutive dynasties and compare and contrast them? This should be easy to do with Ming and Ching.
