Has anyone here used the Equate brand pregnancy tests that are like the First...

...Response tests? I have taken other cheap tests before and had accurate results so I figured I'd give it a go again!

I used the Equate test that is similar to First Response. It has one blue line in the control window and a second line was visible (though not as dark as the control line) in the results window. So to me that's a sign of an early pregnancy. It wasn't so light that you had to squint or hold it to the light....I had it laying on the floor and was looking straight down at it when I saw that line appear. It's still there now (2 hours later) but so very faint. And yes I tested with first morning urine. I tested with this same test 2-3 days back and there was nothing so I'll retest in a few days and if I get the same line or a darker one I'll go see my doctor.

Anyway, has anyone else used this particular test and gotten an accurate result either way?

Thanks!

All tests, generic or name brand are accurate if they say positive. Those tests detect a hormone that your body starts making once you become pregnant called HCG. Your HCG level doubles every 2-3 days as your pregnancy progresses. Generic brands like Equate or Dollar Store tests..etc. are designed to detect levels of HCG when they reach 50. Name brand test like First Response, EPT..etc are designed to detect levels at 25. So if you get a negative, it might just be that your HCG level isn't high enough yet to be detected by the test. But if you get a positive, with any test at any time, then it means that the test is detecting HCG in your urine..meaning you are pregnant. If I were you I would wait 2-3 more days and test again to be sure :)

Yes, they are not the same, I don't care what anyone says. If you have a dollar general, I reccomend theirs. I took numerous pregnancy test (with both pregnancies) and the only one that came out positive was the dollar general brand. I did the digital kind, the equate, the first response, ALL NEGATIVE BUT THE DOLLAR GENERAL ONE! The equate one had a faint line, but with the 4$ dollar general one, It was bright as could be.

Yea ive used it and it gave me an accurate result. If the line has color like blue or pink its a positive, but if its translucent or grey then its a negative. I would retest. Good luck
