title and author? I remember this story, but cannot remember the title or author, and want to find out:
A man is being chased by a barbarian hoard, he runs into an office block, and runs up the stairs, until panting, he reaches the top of the stairs. he looks down the stairs and nobody is following him. he breathes a sigh of relief, until he hears a sound behind him. they had taken the elevator.
