Has anyone heard anything new about Captain N?

So a while back, when Wii was talking about getting into streaming TV, Nintendo suggested that they were working on a new Captain N series intended to be exclusive to the Wii.

Later, after DiC was brought by Cookie Jar, some rumors were floated about a new Captain N series coming to a Cookie Jar block.

Since then, it seems like information on this front has all but died off.

Has anyone heard anything recent about this?

Eh, I would think that anything pertaining to Captain N would be nothing more than rumors as the character of Captain N and the entire show as a whole has not been relevant in years. If anything I could see Nintendo coming up with an original concept show that is similar to Captain N but with stricktly Nintendo characters, Captain N: The Game Master had tons of 3rd party characters (Simon Belmont, MegaMan ect) and I can't see Nintendo wanting to pay these companies so that they can use characters that appear in games for other consoles.

Do you have any links to these news stories you've read? It would be interesting to see what has been said about the whole thing.

hmm its a first i heard of this and kinda hope it'll be true, be nice to see an update to an old favorite. I , too, would like to see a link to the news on this as well.

The Nintendo one just sounds like an example of what kind of Wii-exclusive content they could have, not what they're actually planning.

The rest is just rumors as usual.

The Wii exclusive content was official from E3 2009 but the DiC / Cookie Jar buyout messed with plans, that much I know for certain.

What was rumor is that DiC / Cookie Jar may have been bringing Captain N back as a Saturday Morning Cartoon. To the BEST of my knowledge, that was never made official in any statements.

Beyond that, its note worthy that this was talked about (again, at E3) as a reboot to the series and was intended to focus more on Nintendo characters and less on Capcom and Konami because, well, lets face it, the relationship between Nintendo, Capcom and Konami isn't that good these days, better then it was 10 years ago, but not as good as it was 20 years ago >.>

Again, at E3, it was suggested that main focus characters were going to be Kid Icarus, Link, Zelda, Samus, Ike and something from Custom Robo with the intention of taking on a more serious outlook.

Since the DiC buyout last year, it seems like all conversation about this series just completely ended almost as if there was a contractual issue now.

I was hoping to see it make the Saturday lineup for this fall =(
