Has anyone had this happen?

i would trust your OB more than someone who obviously seems to think having any body area suddenly change color and swell is 'no big deal"? insane really coming from an actual MD. i just woud get this checked out as soon as possible. see your primary and just obtain that US. they would be able to tell almost immediately using that. it is pretty amazing at just how well they can see inside the vessels and even check the blood flow velocity too. considering you have also had a surgery up in that shoulder, could possibly give a bit higher risk for this to occur too. it just needs to be looked and and evaluated much sooner than later, K? blood clots CAN create kind of an overall achey throbby type of real pain and usually, but not always will produce some swelling and heat generation too.

i happened to also have a rotator cuff repair too, owieee, is all i can say to that one. did you regain all ROMS back after PT with that surgery or were there still problems after that phase? good luck, just get this fully checked out. please let me know what you find out. FB

Hello feelbad, I went to the Dr and she took it very seriously. She ordered some bloodwork and exrays. She said that after she gets the xray results, she'll order a UltraSound. I anxious to get the US because she is doing my whole are which always aches, I'm hoping I can find out why.

My shoulder surgery was very painful. I had spurs that ripped my rotator cuff from moving my shoulder. They cut the bone spurs off and shaved down my bones where I have arthritis. I have it in my right shoulder too and he said I would need surgery on that one too, but I'm not ready to go through it again, expecially not having use of my right arm for so long.

I did regain my ROM of my shoulder, but it hurts to do it. I'm still not painfree in that shoulder and it will be 2 years in February.

Thank you for your advise and concern. I'll follow up when I get results.

it sounds like you really have a GREAT primary doc. thats a biggie right there ya know? she is just doing all the right things for you.

i am just wondering when you actually had that shoulder surgery? was it followed up with a really good PT program just to fully regain ALL ROMS? that part was sooo crucial for me. i had a fully snapped supraspinatus at the very top and a partially torn one right underneath that one, and a ton of spurring too. without that wonderful PT guy who i am still seeing for myofascial release therepy, i never ever would have gotten anything back. it was just a truely horribly painful surgery and recovery with that rotator. by far one of the absolute most painful surgeries an ortho does according to what my ortho told me AFTER my surgery of course.

please let me know just what you find out,K? good luck with all of this stuff, FB

I can only say one thing, you need to go to the doctor and get it checked out, it doesn't sound normal. If you can't get them to treat you or take your concern seriously, get a second opinion. But I learned the hard way; don't take you concerns lightly; I did and I ended up having a blood clot which led to a seizure and could have died or had a stroke! Please, always, if any of you have any quirks which concern you, go have it checked out!

Love,
Christy
