Has anyone got Blackberry working on N95?

Hi all,

Has anyone managed to get Blackberry connect working on the N95?

I got my N95 this morning, and I've tried installing the app. I had on my E61 (S60PR2_Blackberry 6.4.0_10) but it just comes up with a 'Unable to Install' message. Blackberry does then appear in the Menu screen, but if you click on it you just get 'No Data'.

So has anyone out there managed to get Blackberry working?
 
First of all, Congrats on your N95!!! Other than the guy in Dubai and obviously the testers, your the first member to officially buy/own the N95! Secondly ...sure, you've got your N95 earlier than anyone else but your coveted BBC will not work on it no matter what you do!

......j/k.....actually, i'm using an E62 and waiting for an N95 as well and it really bums me out that BBC wont work on any N series phones. You can search and search but i've already brought this up with one of hofos resident geniuseses (Ollywompus) and he's pretty much said that until Nokia does something about it we are pretty much SOL. It seems like everything has a work around but not this time! You can still use many other email clients on your N95 but BBC will not be one of them.
 
Yeah...because of this problem I switched to Exchange server and use mail for exchange. It works just as well as a BBC if not better IMO as it syncs/pushes all my emails fast and blocks spam messages. Now Nokia has started to block the 1.5 version from working, but 1.3 should still work. At least it did on my N80.
 
Well that's a bit of a bummer!

So I'm assuming that the only way it's ever going to work is if Nokia decide to enable it on N series phones, and if they haven't done it by now then it looks highly unlikely that they will.

I'll have to ask our IT guys here whether they support syncing via exchange server, although I very much doubt it.
 
Unfortunately it seems that way. For now, i'm stuck using BBC so I will need my E62 for my work phone. The only problem I have is that I get a lot of emails through the weekend and I hate not having it at my fingertips whenever I need it. I guess I can understand why they want to differentiate between the E and the N but dont they realize the market for dual phone usage. Not only that, the N95 is the ultimate convergance device but they exclude the most popular form of push email on the planet.
 
I guess there would be no point in having an "Enterprise" series if the N Series could do the same thing.

On the flip side, we'll probably never see a Carl Zeiss logo on an E Series device (not even the E90 has it). I wouldn't be surprised if we can't install the new upcoming N-Gage platform on E Series phones either.
 
i have a n95 and i have tried to versions of the exchange software, and while both do push calendar, contact, and email changes, the emails are not able to be opened on the n95. i can see who they are from, but cannot open them. i get a message that says feature is not supported. same message when i try to create an email
 
Ouch..that's a good point! That's really going to be a bummer if the E90 doesn't support it as it looks perfect for gaming.
 
Of course they are but somehow Nokia is C*** blocking the BBC feature. I think what was said earlier makes sense...they want to differentiate between the N and the E series.
 
Green, I am forced to use the same combo as you N95 and E62 b/c I require BB connect. You think if we e-mailed tech support in mass Nokia would support their word and give us BB connect on ALL S60. This is a stupid differentiation esp since other e-mail solutions are available. Hell, I would pay a licensing fee for BB connect, just give me the option. (i.e. E series can include BB connect for free).
 
I resurrected this thread after using my N95 this weekend. It is simply amazing device and so fast that I don't want to even look at my E62.

FWIW, the keypad is responsive enough that I can T9 fast enough to compete with Pearl split keypad users. Nothing beats the full QWERTY on the E62, but I realized, its more about reading the e-mail than typing.
