has anyone frozen steaks in water for camping. If yes how is the taste after

cooking? thanks for your replies.? were going canoeing and we would like to know how to keep the steaks for our first supper. would it just be better to simply freeze the steaks on their own?
 
You can freeze the steaks and then vacuum seal. With blocks of ice they will be frozen for days. We freeze everything before leaving. I make block ice in milk cartons in advance.With a good quality cooler you can have frozen food 5 days out. Keep the cooler out of the sun.
