I woke up in the middle of the night last night with extreme back and stomach pain. I was in the bathroom for a good half hour because I was so extremely nauseous. I broke into a cold sweat, my temp went down to 95.4 and I could barely do anything. It even took me forever to manage to take some ibuprofen. I couldn't have even drove myself to the hospital if I needed to. Has anyone ever experienced this before?

Thanks,
Cheryl

Hey Cheryl,
I'm not sure about your temp but....you could have that GI virus. You could also have some stomach issues due to different medication irritation. Just a few thoughts.

Thanks for your answer Deb. I thought that maybe I had a virus as well. But usually I would have a fever, not a drop in temp. My usual is around the norm at 98.7. I've only had one bought of this, which was last night.

Cheryl, as you know, I also experience a drop in temperature, often. Whenever it happens, it feels almost like whenever I run a high fever (which happens whenever I have some type of sickness or infection). Whenever it happens, I get the "chills" and my blood pressure and heart rate rises. It is still a mystery to me! I pray that you do get better and that it quickly passes...Please keep us all updated. We all care about you!

Cheryl, Have you ever had problems with your pancreas? It maybe pancreatitis...there is acute pancreatitis and chronic. You definitely should
document how you felt include all of the symtpoms, your temperature, where the pain started and radiated it, the duration of the event, etc. It is important so the doctor can make an accurate diagnosis.

Feel better.

Sincerely,

Hi and thanks for your replies.

Sorry I haven't written back, I've been in the hospital for a few days. For my stomach thing. Course when my stomach hurts that bad, my back does too. They still haven't diagnosed it and I am still not eating anything. It hurts too much. So anyhow, I missed my second steroid injection in my back because of this. I think I need to get my stomach taken care of before my back. BUT, the hospital told me NOT to take any ibuprofen, ANY type of NSAIRAB. This is what I take most of the time for my backpain. Any suggestions? Also, thanks so much for caring about how I'm doing!

Cheryl

Tylenol is much easier on your stomach. Doesn't work for me, though. If that doesn't help, I'd call your doc and ask for something stronger.

Hope you feel better soon.

Cheryl,
Sorry you are feeling so bad. I hope they figure out what is wrong with your tummy. Please keep us posted!
