I WANT to get into the Navy but i have a minor misdemeanor ?(marijuana possession) charge that occured after my 18th b-day. will this DQ me? will i need a waiver? should i lie? how long would i have to wait for a waiver?

You need a waiver. You got charged, so it'll pop up even in a simple background check. Come clean with the recruiter unless you want your military career to be very, very brief.

Ok, most drug usage that people lie about they either did not get caught, or they did not get charged. Since you were charged they are going to find this when they do your security clearance paperwork. Your recruiter works for you. Telling them the truth on the matter only allows them to better serve your needs.

dont lie if it's on paper.

If it's not on paper anywhere, you can lie away!

So you'll have to tell the truth and hope for the best

Even if you lie they will find out. They do a back round check and everything will come up. The Army is pretty lenient on some things but the Navy, Air force are pretty tough.............Well good luck with a possession charge. But its worth a shot.
