Has anyone ever heard of making "sculptures" out of toenail clippings?

So I was walking around downtown earlier, and this man was on the side of the street selling toenail "sculptures". I bought one out of pity for this guy, he looked pretty hard up. But I don't know if I will display it in my house or not. What do YOU think?
