what happened to your personal belongings. how long did you stay were you able to contact anybody and if so how often anyhing else you like to say about it

I have a friend who went to jail for failing to pay child support. He got 90 days in jail. He did his time in a county jail and was treated like any other prisoner in there. He was allowed to make collect calls to people and allowed to have 2 - 15 mins visits once a week. After he was released he was given 90 days to start catching up on his child support of face the possibility of being sent back to jail for another 90 days. As for his personal belongings, he had to store his stuff in friends and families basements. The personal belongings he had on him when he went in was locked up till his release.

I have never been to jail... but, I worked at one. Your personal belongings will be kept in a property bag that you will be able to pick up once you are released. You should be able to use a phone after you are booked... but just be aware that you will have to make collect calls (which kind of sucks because most people have cells phones now) My only advice is just keep to yourself and use your manners. Good Luck.
