Has anyone else gone to Everest College and been scammed by financial aid fraud?

I'm starting to pay back my student loans, and some of these loans had defaulted and been handed over to collection agencies or servicing centers, which makes it even more confusing to sort out. BUT, apparently I had a "private credit line" through Sallie Mae (which I was unaware of until today, 2 years after graduating) in approximately the same amount my student loans from FAFSA were supposed to be. I'm starting to suspect that the school took a large part of my financial aid money and then created another loan for me. Either way, they lied to me and my husband when we were doing the financial paperwork, etc. because neither of us had any knowledge of this "private line". I distinctly remember the total tuition costs being roughly $12,000 and with financial aid and a Pell Grant I was left with under $4,000 owed, which was then covered by 2 Sallie Mae loans and a Perkins Loan.

If anyone had a similar experience I would really like to know. I just need some verification or affirmation so I can start seeking legal action! Thanks :)
Oh, the Sallie Mae loans were Stafford loans, but the private line was just Sallie Mae.
