Has anyone driven California 58 to the weird little towns of Simmler and

California Valley? I am wondering? what those towns are like. Who lives there? What do they do? It seems so remote, with no gas stations or hotels or even stores! Apparently there is a library in the town of California Valley, only open on Wednesdays, and a community center where groceries are dropped off and a small school with only a handful of students. What is going on here? Can anyone tell me about these towns? California Valley has 500 residents and the web site says the town of Simmler is even smaller. Any info on these bizarre places would be great
 
I've been there. Believe me! I wonder the SAME THING.

I also wonder if they have a religion for every resident (churches.)
I wonder if somebody is having a heart attack where they take them.
I even wonder how much food and gas would cost them since they live so far.
