I have a box of old home movies that are deteriorating and need to be put on a DVD and I would like to be able to do this myself and not pay someone because of the cost.
We converted my Mom's old home movies from like film strips to vhs (we had to hire someone for that) and then from vhs to dvd (that one we did ourselves with a dvd recorder and a vcr both hooked up to the same tv) It worked pretty well and was easy.
Get a DVD recorder. Then you plug your video recorder or camera into the DVD recorder and press play in the video and record on the DVD recorder. You'll need to switch it to AV 2 I think. It's been a while since I've done it, but it works fine, and the DVD recorder will pay for it's self in no time.
