Has an actor ever put you off them ?

So the question is, has an actor or actress ever played a part in a film where their character has actually put you off the actor themselves due to the part they played ?

The ones i remember being so hideous in their roles the most are :-

Brian Dennehy - To Catch a Killer - he played the part of serial killer John Wayne Gacey so well (evil personified) , i couldn't watch him for years in an film :(

Ray Liotta - Unlawful Entry - again he played the part of bad cop so well it put me right off him.

Glenn Close - Fatal Attraction, what a pyscho !!! but played the part so well i disliked her and still do !
 
I'm amazed you've posted this because it had the complete opposite affect on me. I never much liked Dennehy until I saw TCAK (I think it's because his character was such a nob in First Blood) but after seeing his performance in TCAK I realised what a superb actor he was and from then on I sought out his films. The scene where he is almost in a trance as he handcuRAB the guy he takes home and is "woken" from it by the police phoning the house is the best acting I have ever seen.
 
I can't stand Patricia Routledge and have never been able to watch any programme she's been in. I think it's down to the fact that she reminRAB me strongly of my mother.

Nicholas Cage - i just think every charactor he 'performs' is an extention of his ego. Never can i get too involved in his films because of his shoddy performances.

And don't get me started on the most annoying sound in the world........his voice! :mad:
 
It's not what he has done in a film but what he does in real life that puts me off. That actor is Sean Penn. His ill informed ramblings has put me off watching any of his films. Team America had him down to a tee.
 
'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' totally put me off Matthew Broderick. He just always seems like a smug b*stard to me now in everything he does.
 
Juliette Lewis the moment I saw her in The Basketball Diaries. I refuse to watch any films starring her as she comes across as filthy trailer trash whatever role she plays.
 
After watching that dogawful film with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman being stone cold 'sexy' at some stupidly long and boring masked ball sex orgy thing, I just can't watch anything with him in it any more. Just about manage to cope with Nicole Kidman as enjoyed her part in The Others but the Chanel aRAB have put me right off watching anything with her in it now.

Hugh Grant
Sean Penn

- if I see their name I just won't even bother.
