Haruhi Suzumiya Sequel Confirmed (or is it?)

Watch, it's going to be another troll.

It'll be chronological Order, then a rerun in the original broadcast order.

Then, newtype will announce, HARUHI RETURNS ONCE AGAIN! With it clarifying inside that the haruhi-chan shorts + the churuya shorts will be in new DVRAB that contain the original series in broadcast order.

The other thing, people have said is that the whole thing will air in chronological order, meaning Baraboo Leaf Rhapsody(first of new episodes) would air before Mysterique Sign(in chrono order), and after it, Endless Eight(One of the best, and most terrifying stoires in the novels, especially for Yuki) if they're going to do that.

EDIT: An order someoen on ANN proposed. This would be awesome.

01. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya part I
02. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya part II
03. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya part III

Gotta love Newtype.

"EXCITING GUNDAM NEWS!!" *next month, lead story* "Fukuda found a penny on the street! We're not sure what denomination it was, but we're sure the SEED director can enjoy wider purchase power when it is spent!"

And as I said in that ANN thread the source isn't always reliable as that source's source is often 2ch aka have their hopes up waay to high. I do believe that 28 episodes will air, but I will have to see any new episodes before I believe them. Kyoani is also working on K-On and it's not often they work on twi shows at once.

Ugh, ANOTHER "Girls in High School do High School Stuff" show? Yeah, because that's what the industry REALLY neeRAB right now, ugh.

Anyway, I`d like to remain cautiously optimistic.

They were working on Clannad AS, Munto TV and Haruhi-chan/Churuya-san all at the same time. Granted, Munto was only 9 episodes and Haruhi-chan/Churuya-san are ONA shorts.

As much as I hate Sankaku Complex, I have to say that concept of that is very interesting

Yeah, but interestingly enough, K-On is a music anime, and we don't have that many of those

Considering how objectionable the content can sometimes be, and especially since it openly advocates for lolicon at points, it's going to get under some people's skin. Not everyone likes an almost always NSFW, Japanophile/otakucentric version of FARK, even if it does pull in some interesting visual comparisons from time to time, making it sorta useful resource for animation quality analysis, and even if it does pull in some useful anime news.

But yeah, considering they have no qualms being all "hay guiz, creepy underage gravure models" and "here's yet another creepy teacher/student relationship", it's going to be loathed by a good many people, and there is a case for them being 100 percent correct in their loathing.

And let us never speak of it again...

If this news is indeed true, then it has implications for proper episode ordering. I see these scenarios:

BO = Broadcast Order, CO = Cronological Order

S1 = Season 1, S2 = Season 2

1. S1 is in CO, S2 is aired after in CO.

2. S1 is now aired in a New Order, s2 is aired after in CO.

3. s1 is kept in BO, s2 is shown in CO.

4. S1 is in CO, S2 is aired after in a new non-CO order.

5. S1 is now aired in a New Order, s2 is aired after in a new non-CO order.

6. s1 is kept in BO, s2 is shown in a new non-CO order.

7. s1 eps are interspersed with s2 eps in a new order, that is different from the original S1 BO.

Several of these possibilities will seriously effect what is considered the correct canon way of viewing the series and how its released/re-released on DVD.

Any word on a same-day English stream? Given how many popular anime are getting them, and the fact that they cared enough to give us official Haruhi-chan subs, it's kind of surprising that they wouldn't.

Not sure if they'll include sub versions, but the show will be streaming weekly on YouTube starting at the 15th of this month. Not exactly same day, since it's one day after the last TV channel that's broadcasting this airs it, but it's something.
