Haruhi Suzumiya Sequel Confirmed (or is it?)

From the earlier annoucement claiming that we would've have gotten the clip today, before the latest news:

The original announcement had also said that the streaming would be subject "to the whim of the SOS Brigade Leader."

Now, that might just be them throwing a joke into the announcement, since Haruhi is supposedly "the head director" herself.....or this is a joke. They DID take down the website on a day that corresponded with a date in the novels. And Haruhi is as much a spoof of anime cliches and tropes as it is a comedy/thought experiment on philosophy and quantum mechanics. This delay could be one big joke.

.......or its not, and its really delayed.

(It's one thing to wait a few extra months, like with Smash Brothers Brawl, but when a company has taken close to three years to make a sequel to a sure money maker, there better be a good reason, or else its just bad planning and bad business skills).

Hopefully its a joke. Hopefully.
 
IN this economic situation, I questionb KyoAni's sanity for not at least ANNOUNCING that there will be a second season. Do they want to end up like Gonzo?

Unless, of course, this IS fruits basket 2.0 .

Speaking of FB, is there some kind of fan coalition for a remake of the full manga to be made? Tayaka can just have another director if she really didn`t like him.

I just watched both of them, the Haruhi-chan episode was funny!!

It's like Haruhi in the style of Di Gi Charat and Gintama corabined, and that Tsuruya short made me hungry

And Yuki is a closet pervert? Eh, those types are usually like that.

I loved how they redid the part with Asakura's crazy moment and then did the Sorting Algorithm of Evil thing of how she's the weakest of the 4 goRAB and then there are more even above them. These things are great. (Though an actual, you know, season would be better)

Aw. I for one was not at all surprised, speaking as someone who owns a copy of Newtype that says "SUZUMIYA HARUHI RETURNS!!" in big letters. From 2006. I would've thought everyone had learned to take rumors about Haruhi/Newtype announcements with a big block of sodium chloride.



I'm perfectly content to rip on Clannad because it's cloying, old, a waste of good talent and already adapted too many times into every possible medium. Oh, and created by a guy too lazy to check and see what the title of his game actually meant in Irish. ^^
