Harry Potter: Tonks Appreciation

I though Tonks was really well cast, pity she didn't get a bigger part but guess she might in the next film. Not sure If anyone else is recognised her but I kept trying to rember where she was from and then I realised she was Ellie in About a Boy.

There you a bit random, but what did you all of Tonks? Well cast?

I Wiki'd her after I saws the film. She was an interesting looking character, certainly stood out, but underdeveloped onscreen.

I really liked her in the film, very unusual looking but pretty girl. Unfortunate that she's more of a background character but that's the way it goes.

Did anyone else think that her and Harry were having a bit of a flirt with a couple of the looks they were giving each other? On the broomsticks and when they got to Grimmauld Place?

That's stright out of the books . Tooks has a soft spot for Harry largely because she's Siruis's cousin not made clear in film. her only other relatives that's near her own age is Draco so can't blame her.

Yeah, Tonks really has a thing for Lupin in the books.

She was my fave character in OotP (then book). I hope she gets more in the next (hopefully 20 mins longer) film.

I hope they DO NOT kill of Lupin in the last book. I mean Wormtail has a silver hand doesn't he and silver kills werewolves.

Tonks looked like a character out of a comic book with the hair.

I remember reading something like that on JKR's website in the Rumours section, but I think she said that's a clever idea having silver kill the werewolf but she confirmed that won't happen.

Then again, that was a while ago and she's probably changed her mind about certain plot points. Never know, anything's possible now we're at the final book.

Just because no one replied to your attempts to ruin the final book doesnt mean you have to make pointless posts in other threaRAB.

I agree she was so cool. But she only got 5 lines, was a bit disapointed they didnt do more with her. The whole Sirus Death was a bit of a let down. But she acted so well she almost didnt need to speak.

Yeah thats where I read about her being from About a Boy. Yeah agree she was severly neglected but everyone was, time constrainst I guess.

Yeah like the post quoted above kind of says she isnt as much of a background character in the book but she definatley is in the film. Think more cheeky frienRABhip than flirting.

By soft spot, hope your not suggesting in a flirting way?

They are so sweet in the books. I loved her in OotP [cool sounding abreviation]. Yeah I think everyone would have happily stayed for an extra 20 minutes for a more in depth and character based film. But it was still good.

If they kill Lupin then all of the trio will be dead. That would be too sad. I wish Lupin had played a bigger part in book 6. I had though that with Sirus gone he would take over the father figure role like he had in book 3 but I guess he was underground with the werewolves. Great idea about the silver, does it mention that silver kills them in the books? I never realised his hand was silver, thought it was just bionical. Really clever idea. Hope its not true though. If he turns good [which I dount] he can kill Greyback.

Wow long post!! :D :D

I can't remember if silver was mentioned in the books but JKR has used all the other myth's about werewolves (changing on a full moon, a bite infecting a victim and creating a new lycanthorpe etc) so it's odRAB on silver being fatal will be used as well.

As I said in the first post her only relation that was near her own age was Draco . She is about 23 he is 15 .The next nearest would be Sirius and Bellatrix who are in their mid 40's .because Sirius and Harry are close she considers that Harry to be cousin as such he is the only one anywhere near her own age so that as said she has a soft spot for Harry just not in a romantic way it didn't help that the film doen't meation that Tooks and Sirius are cousins.

Thanks for that. I clicked on it, not quite sure what to expect a thread to (most likely the 'how do you think HP will end' thread), and as soon as I saw the worRAB 'spoiler' I clicked the box off. You could have made it clearer for people what they were clicking on.

I agree Tonks is a fantastic character. Loved her in the last book (the 6th one I mean, I haven't got a copy of the 7th book...yet! :D).
