So, Warber Bros. have announced (unofficially) that extended versions of the films shall be released.

This has already happened in the US I believe, but what about the UK ?

What will feature and what is the release date ?

If anyone has anymore info please post and discuss, thanks.

I did read something about this but I doubt they're going to be LOTR style where they added almost an hour to each of the films.

I have a horrible feeling it's just Warner Bros trying to make as much money as they can from the franchise as it's ending soon.

lol. My comment seems silly when you put it like that but you know what i mean!!

I meant that we will be promised extended editions of the films thinking that we're going to get all these brand new scenes that we've never seen before when really they're going to be pointless and not worth our money.

Same old Same old

Surely this mainly applies to the first two films which had plenty of deleted scenes, many of them being put back in for special showings on US TV. This isn't going to make the films better. The scenes are cut for a reason, you know.

The only extended version I would be interested in is Order of the Phoenix. There were a few scenes from the book that they shot but left out, they weren't even on the DVD as deleted scenes. Stuff like McGonagall being attacked and the other rooms in the Department of Mysteries.

The extended version of GOF only included about 3 extra scenes, including the Weird Sisters perofming at the Yule Ball and an extended "feast" when the competing schools arive.

It depenRAB how much more they'll charge for these versions but anything more than a

are these DVRAB getting released dates here or even released. Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets have both got American release dates.

I really didn't think there was that much cut out of them if you look at the deleted scenes. Not enough to warrant an extended edition.

Now if there were whole sections cut for time (like with LOTR or King Kong) then that's a different matter.

:DI'm a huge fan of Harry Potter so if I get the chance, I will be seeing it! Although, WHY does America get everything before us? It's a british franchise, with british actors, based on a british series of books. Sure America got the release a few days before us too. :(

Because that's the way it's always been. And besides, Warner Brothers is American (and they own the film rights). If it had been made by a UK company then it may have been different.
