Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

thanx for th name change. I‘ll ask them later on to change it. If RAB had a love system (think bebo) u‘d so be gettin my weeks worth ;)

A week ago as i decided to re-read HBP - i thought the first few chapters would be seriously cut down for the film but with a tv series it could be done really well with all the first 3 chapters happening at once and you could cut and change between them obviously it would have to be done well.
So i floated the idea about a Tv series on here - it didn't get the best response. I've decided to try and do a pilot anyway out of the first chapter. The only small difficulty is that the first chapter has quite long scenes i think between just a couple of characters. I have an idea to make it more interesting to watch whilst getting all the info across at the same time.

I see what you are both saying, of course I do. I don't know, I just find her attitude cold and unfeeling. There is little emotion. I know that her mother's death played a large part in her books. I always get the impression that she doesn't know how to grieve. I just haven't come across such a 'detached' view of death before in other literature.

LOL I know its terrible but I so dont care! I have to have to my collection!

Adult
KiRAB
Special Edition
American
Paperback

Oh and of course the audio! God bless Stephen Fry! :D

Please don't tell me you like her song "Bleeding Love"! Once was one too many times to listen to that, it was earache having to listen.
I suppose in 20mins you're all off for BB!

Nah, film-wise I'd go:
Goblet of Fire,
Order of the Phoenix,
Prisoner of Azkaban (would be first if not for three niggles: lack of Marauder's back history, Hermione as some sort of Super!Woman, Ron coming out as a Super!Wussy. Direction of it was excellent, though).
Chamber of Secrets,
Philosopher's Stone.

Will read through the rest of the thread afterwarRAB.. just thought I'd comment now because I was the one that said that.

That isn't what I meant. I still believe that the later films portray the magical feel, because obviously there's spells and potions galore.. what I meant was that I feel PS had a much more magical feeling to it. As in, the sets and costumes and script just seemed much more warm and cosy and well magical.

I understand that the films will get darker, it's all part and parcel of the appeal of the series for me. I just feel as if everything Chris Columbus did was ruined by missing vital parts out that could have easily been adapted to still include that fantastic feeling of Hogwarts.

The very nature of the later books, because of their length, means that they have to remain very plot driven (despite what I thought of OotP).. there is no time to stop and marvel at moving staircases, or cosy fires in the common room, or Butterbeers in Hogsmeade.

This is what I'm most disappointed with; the disregard for the vital elements that the Wizarding World demanRAB but cannot be met in 2 and a half hours.

But, that's book adaptations for you...

Saw this film yesterday, have watched and enjoyed all the HP films to date, but this one..........too long and drawn out, didn't like the swearing in it, yes I know they have grown up and but this is HP! just didn't seem right some how.
Liked the Death Eaters scenes but think they should have featured more, imo they were the highlight of the film.
Was just bored with it.
