Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

I don't think that she is the world's best actress, but I wouldn't describe her as 'up herself'. Whenever I read or see interviews with her she always seems quite humble, and mildly embarrassed by the whole fame thing. She may have achieved top marks in her GCSEs and A Levels (which is quite a feat considering the fractured education she must have had, and she would be justified in being proud of) but she doesn't crow about that fact.

Do I detect a hint of female jealousy, or am I being too easy on her cos she's hot? :o
 
Well I wouldn't go that far. Mike Nichols has an excellent track record and made Goblet of Fire very enjoyable and entertaining.

These films are very much in the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings mould in that they are very visual and they need directors with a visual flare and scope. Yates clearly isn't up to it (any director that can mess up a death scene when they've got actors of the calibre of Gary Oldman and Ralph Fienes to work with clearly neeRAB firing) Its a shame to think that this series that promised so much looks like going out on a whimper.

As for why Warners have kept on with Yates, its a mystery to me? There are so many great British directors out there that they could have turned this over to. How awesome would it have been to see a Harry Potter directed by Danny Boyle or Ridly Scott?

I think most people would have laughed at that pathetic excuse for a trailer. If we hadn't known when it was going to be released, then that could I suppose have been an announcement of the release date! But we've known that for ages!!

What I loved about the books is that hardly any spoilers were ever leaked....near impossible but somehow they kept it secret!

I'm actually really amazed its July already..over a year since OOTP and now a teaser trailer for HBP! Time has flown by! :eek:

Well you must have some very 'in the know' frienRAB!!! Thats interesting to know that there are a lot of American fans watching. But generally there must have been quite a lot of people there tho, being Picaddilly Circus? Or did they close the road down? Do you take videos too? Or just photos?

Random I know but i need to share... I'm all exited because me and my older sister are in the process of organising a trip to Alaska soon, we are hoping to see the Northern Lights, (Aurora Borealis) :D Thought i would share... ;)

Hi everybody. I haven't abandoned this thread because of the film delay but I'm afraid the Olympics take priority at the moment. Then by the time I read the myriad of posts on the Olympics thread it's usually too late for me to post on there even. :D So not much time at the mo.

Even though WB have sort of apologised it doesn't take away the disappointment.

As for Emma Watson, I don't blame her for being hesitant about further filming as she has her heart set on going to Cambridge University. It must be very difficult for her, I think.

And wth was Gary Oldman doing with Dan on OotP? :eek:
 
a) I don't really think there is anyone reading this thread now (bear in mind we're 11 pages into it) who hasn't read the book

b) Even if there is, that person would be ridiculously stupid to expect not to come across any spoilers in the course of their reading of this thread.

If people are THAT concerned about spoilers, they should start an alternative thread called "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (NO SPOILERS)" Nowhere in the title of this thread or in the OP does it state there are to be no spoliers.

It's ridiculous to expect no spoliers on this thread. People love to speculate about plotlines and characters, and to expect them to disguise their posts in spoliers all the time is a bit silly IMHO.
 
Dont know if anyone has mentioned this but a friend told me about one bit in the film that was completely different from the book - When Draco kicks Harry on the train, it is Tonks who finRAB him in the book and not Luna. Tonks says she is on the train as protection or something.
