i think Slughorn's first lesson is important for Felix Felicis. But the other lessons - no they are not important. Reading the cast list on imdb is interesting as they have cast Regulus Black and a young Lucius Malfoy - not sure we see them in this book.
I know we certainly see the orphanage which Voldy grew up in!

I didn't do that - but it was only people on here who knew who tumtumtum was....Looks like kenny's been here a while so it might be worthwhile doing that.
ooh good! I knew I must have got 150 from somewhere.
Thanks Priggy!
Well in the books, they mention that wizarding duel between him and grindelwald (sp??) in the 1940s but also if he was a teacher at Hogwarts when Riddle was at school...that makes him OLD!!
But in the first film we could understand the snake? But it doesn't matter anyway it's not even in the film
Yeah i suppose so, if it was still them but with wigs etc. like you said then yeah that word work and still appear magical, i just wouldnt have liked it at all if all the scenes where polyjuice is used is played by other actors.
Lavendar: I happen to be his girlfriend, Hermione: I happen to be his... friend lol. The bit where she's looking at Ron in the hospital bed (I think) is that when he's pretending to be asleep every time she visits?
I've just check and it is Luna. I love that hat There's a good screencap of it over on Leaky during a Quidditch match. I would provide a like to the pic my my laptop's really slow this morning and it wont let me open Leaky
That's true, but I feel like sometimes they miss out things that are really important to the book and the development of characters and so the story doesn't seem to flow quite as smoothly...
I think this book is one of the most interesting - there's lots to tell (Voldemorts past etc.)
I'm not looking forward to the part where Harry uses Sectumsempra on Malfoy though. Bleurgh!
lol you like a good controverisal chat- I dont like LOTR but I appreciate they are stunning films! But to me they are too long and I got bored!
But deffo yes Potter probably lacks that "cinema classic" feel to it which of course is sad but as long as it pleases people when they watch it I suppose its doing its job!
I hope Deathly Hallows- Part 2 especially can become the "classic" the Potter series neeRAB to cement it in cinema history firmly!
