only one of them will make it til the end of the films though. I keep trying to forget about the death in the next film....:cry:
 
I have enjoyed all the films. OOTP is my fave at the mo, but that might just be because it's the latest one. What didn't you like about it?

I think they miss parts out of each film that I miss, but I am starting to come to terms with it now!

Not sure about the Draco/Pansy bit but we deffo get the bit where he stamps on Harry and breaks his nose.

I thought Alan Rickman was great in it! Also, the guy who plays Draco (I can't stand the character as he's a horrible, smarmy git - but it shows how well he is playing the character...) and Daniel as Harry.

I also thought that Luna was rather cute indeed! I think the fact that she's a bit bonkers is a bit of a turn on too... :D
 
Well, I loved it. Yes, it missed bits out from the book, and added bits, but I actually liked the attack on the burrow, and they can't include everything from the book, and it captured the spirit of the book wonderfully. I didn't think the romance was too OTT, and a lot of it was pretty funny. The attack on the burrow worked well, and Molly's face as she watched the Burrow burn was heartbreaking. Also, I thought the death was handled very well, as it isn't an easy scene to adapt. Cutting the 'battle' was probably wise too as it'll make the final battle more special. The standout scene of the film was the cave scene, which was possibly the best scene in any HP film. It was stunning, and Michael Gambon's acting was superb, and his fire spell was truly epic. Overall, it was a brilliant film.

As for Deathly Hallows, I think:

The film will open with DD's funeral, before the scene with the Death Eaters/Charity Burbage (confirmed to be in the film as Burbage has been cast. Also, I think they'll include some of the scenes at Hogwarts described by Neville in the book i.e. Ginny, Neville and Luna trying to steal the sword and the Carrows punishments. I've heard that part one is ending when the trio are caught by the snatchers, which means that there will be plenty of action in both filmsw, and the Battle of Hogwarts will have plenty of time given to it.

I know this is a film thread but one thing we never found out about the books was the significance of the veil which Sirius fell through - I was expecting there to be more to it.
 
No problem. I'm re-reading the book.. just to be up-to-date when the film comes out! Up to the bit where they visit the gaunts for the first time .. exciting :D:cool:
 
The thing that annoyed me most about the films came in GoF when they didn't include the creatures in the Maze for the Third task. I thought the scenes that they did include were good...but I was disappointed that thay didn't include those things

like AR said (sorry....am a lazy typist..) I've just come to terms with the films now and look at them as adaptations rather than direct translations from the books (re-arrange the worRAB in that sentence to make a comprehensive answer lol) :p
 
I completely agree with your oder for both the films and books.

I am the same with GOF film. it was all right but it was just a bit... meh. It all seemed so rushed, the best part of it was the grave yard scene though... I cry every time. :D



I just read that on The Leaky Cauldron. Can't believe it was a year ago already.
