Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

Ok my review...

I didn't expect it to be as good as the book because the book is always better!!

But I think there was some fantastic moments, the graphics were AMAZING, esp the pensieve and the cave!! Jim Broadbent was great as Slughorn and Jessie Cave was great as Lavender. Tom Felton fantastic as Draco the scene in the bathroom and when he was talking to Dumbledore at the end were excellent!

There was some great humour and some fab dark moments. I liked the scene in HagriRAB with Slughorn talking about Lily and I did like them all holding their wanRAB in the air stood around Dumbledore. If they couldn't do funeral for time reasons i guess this was some way to make it emotional. Even though i knew it was coming i'll admit i did cry :(:o

Negatives would be - bit too much focus on the romance, Dumbledore innsinuated HEAVILY when talking about horcruxes that Harry is a horcrux -that's supposed to be a suprise for the last film. Bonnie Wright's performance as Ginny was terrible and SO wooden, No mention on the Gaunts, no scene of Tom with the woman who he gets HufflepuRAB Cup and the locket from. AND at the end when Harry says to Snape "Fight Back you Coward" I think they should have included "DON'T YOU CALL ME COWARD" Because I just think it's a pivotal moment in the story well it was to me?!

OVERALL - I did enjoy it though and it was MUCH better than OOTP!!

Lisa, I'm also enjoying the watching the swimming. I don't actually expect Brits to do well but i do look for them. I'm watching Federer vs Berdych at the moment. Berdych was the one who beat Federer in Athens. Federer just got broken.

I'm the same, Richard Harris WAS Dumbledore. No doubt about it, I remember feeling quite taken aback when Gambon got all violent and tempered in OotP.

I cannot believe HBP is actually being released though. It's three years next week that we all queued up at midnight to collect it.. They seem to be making them at such a pace now!

I'm looking forward to it.

David Yates is directing the remaining films though which is a shame because OotP was rather weak.. I wish they had gotten Columbus back on board!

*joins you in throwing the darts* :p

How about making a WB voodoo doll so we can stick pins into it? :D

Oh God...another NINE months to go! :(

And we will soon be approaching 5,000 posts on this thread.

Are there any Rupert Grint fans here? If yes, please sign one of these petitions: the fans are campaigning for Rupert's latest film Cherrybomb to be released in theatres: http://www.rupert-grint.us/wordpress/cherrybomb-distribution-campaign/
It's a small indie flick set in Belfast, and it hasn't secured a distribution deal yet; so, if the fans don't support it, it's gonna go straight to DVD. Which is a shame -- it's a great film and it deserves to be shown in cinemas. I've seen it at Dublin Film Festival, and I posted my review on IMDb, if anyone is interested: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1248971/usercomments (my review is the first one on the page). :)

i know what you mean with Voldemort. Ralph Fiennes is a great actor but i have to say i don't like the way he plays You-Know-Who.
He seems too human when we know there is like no human left in him. Also a bit too mad - i don't see Voldemort as mad when he is that old. Obsessed, yes, perhaps a little mad, but he is far too cold to be mad.

In the interviews with the cast they have all been saying... this is a lighter movie, more funny etc.
From the looks of it, it seems the most terrifying! The battle at the end, the cave, the attack at the burrow, Ron being poisoned etc. Theres just so much! I like a darker film to be fair!

I don't mind Cho at all... Although I think in DH she should have been killed off possibly, Harrys first gf dying, would have been quite poetic lol!

Hi Lisa! I just read back over the thread and noticed your tumtumtum was no more. I like your new name. Luna is one of my favourite characters. Thanks for the Birthday wishes. I'm gettin old.

What, what what??!! Tsk, yes, Spinner's End is full of chemistry between Severus and Narcissa. Here's an example:

"She flung away her glass; it skidded across the table as she slid off the sofa into a kneeling position at Snape's feet, seized his hand in both of hers and pressed her lips to it."

Snape made the Unbreakable Vow for Narcissa, for Draco. He is very tender with her. See the contrast in his attitude towarRAB Bellatrix.
;)

Hi priggy. Oh, but we do need to see it imho. Erm it is important... for you know, what happens at the end of the book. Why do we need to see the talk between Bellatrix and Snape?

Yes! Everyone can come!!

If you tell Lucius to behave...he may sit on Santa's lap although I don't know where he is because he disappeared hours ago with DumbleyDore :D:D
