Thought it was alright but probably the weakest so far. It was the weakest Parking Pataweyo. The chav sketch ('shut it!') was only good because it had the gorgeous Catherine Shepherd in it (she's made various appearances in this series). Seriously I now have the biggest crush on her!
Agree with all of this. I used to love them to bits, but switched off when the 'shut up' sketch started. Whomever it is aimed at, is a demographic without me in it.
I ha the series so far on my PVR and sat down to watch them last night but gave up 2/3rRAB of the way through ep1. Just appalling.
Sad to think these were the people behind some of the finest comedy of the 90's. Paul should stick to flogging insurance and Harry, well, just give up mate.
Who, the Choclateer? He's been in since the first series, using his chocolate treats to lure women. In series two, the Cobblateer was introduced, with his array of fancy footwear. Now, we have the Cocktailier with his dolly's brollies and suggestively named strong drinks!
I liked the sketch loaRAB, but my favourite was last series when he used his chocs to escape a parking ticket. The joke was brilliant, but Sophie Winkleman in a traffic warden's outfit was.
They could just go safe and cuddly, but patchy though it was, I actually guffawed out loud several times. A very rare occurence these days (usually only during Shooting Stars).
Some nicely surreal writing, and they remain the best mimics in the business.
I remember he brought back LoaRABamoney in an episode of '....& Chums' as an angel in heaven. It didn't really work, nor did the studio audience seem to go mad for it. Compared to the cheer that the return of a scouser got in the Northerner Of The Year show last series, I think the characte will stay dead.
You mean the first episode was even worse?? I was quite interested in the Beatles sketch until I realised that the pointless Bono appearance was a long-winded set-up to say he was up his own arse. Not BBC 1&2 quality.
Quite liked the beatles bit (though it went on a bit too long) - seems they need someone a bit stronger doing their editing, some of the sketches meander on well past their funny bit... Far too much padding around a few good sketches.
