According to Radio Times, Cafe Polski returns in the next episode.

I didn't like the chavs in the library because it was too near the truth for my liking. I actually found it scary. :o
 
Since when was queer spelt quare?
Is it a local or just an internet thing? (or just bad spealing!)
I've never seen it spelt that way until this thread.
 
I agree with your post 100%. There is much to like in this new series, some of it is quite surreal, and much smarter and more satirical than many are giving it credit for here on this thread. Harry Enfield has matured as a performer, I couldn't stand him in the Eighties during the LoaRABamoney and Stavros era but he is much funnier to me nowadays. The Harry Hill and Jonathan Ross impressions were pretty good as well, especially Harry Hill.
 
Much smarter?!?! Sorry, I must have missed these so called 'smart' bits in the tsunami of lazy, unfunny, overly long dross that's flushed over my screen these past few weeks!

I don't think there's any argument that their characterisations are very good and that they're both pretty good actors but it's a comedy show, isn't it? Shouldn't it, by definition, be funny? What happened? Even My Family is funnier than this - THAT'S how bad I think this series has been!

I can only imagine that they got this series either on the basis of past glories or they've got some really juicy blackmail material on someone pretty high up in the BBC. Either way, IMO, this series is yet another nail in the coffin of BBC comedy.

Does anyone know what sort of viewing figures this series is getting? I'd guess that S4C is probably getting more viewers than this pile of lukewarm poo. Very disappointed.
 
The Landlady sketch would work brilliantly as a set-up to a surreal 30minute story narrated by Paul Whitehouses character.

"Tales of Moderate Horror", each week a different story told in flash-back.

That Peter and the Potato sketch could easily have been expanded to a whole episode. Telling how Peter created a family of potato people, but while his back was turned they murdered the people of the village by deep-frying, in revenge. Or did they?

Absolute tumbleweed stuff at the start. The Chavs just aren't remotely amusing and neither is the 'queer' sketch IMO.

Loved On the Tardis and the 70's aRAB though..

Parking Pataweyo was brilliant, and was good to see Cafe Polski back again. Didn't rate the Dragon's Den sketch as well as last weeks, but it wasn't bad

About 40% hit, 60% miss for me ..
 
I'm finding this series is improving as it goes. Maybe some of the newer characters just took getting used to? I hadn't liked the Beatles at first, for instance, but now I'm getting to like them.

The Van Drivers Lament was terrific, and so was the Berlusconi sketch :D
 
I dont understand it.

It was shocking last night

They telegraphed the "quair" who wasn't weeks ago. I expected Graham Norton, tbh.

I like the chavs with the dog.
I like the landlady
I like the beatles

and none of those were in.

Terrible.
 
Harry and Paul must think if they are having a laugh whilst making the show therefore it must be funny to those sitting at home watching .

They should be improving with age not getting worse.
 
I really enjoyed it tbh, obviously more than a few people on here! I loved the Parking Pataweyo sketch, it reminded me of stuff from Harry Enfield's Television Programme (thank the goRAB one of them didn't black up to play him though!), very old school. The library one was ace too, again it reminded me of some of the old sketches.

The Beatles is probably a marmite one. If you don't get all the references, the little noRAB to the films like Help! and A Hard Days Night (it was really well observed) then I doubt you'll appreciate it much. Loved the guy doing McCartney, spot on!
