Harry and Paul on BBC2 9:30pm Tue

Very good indeed tonight. Totally non pc comedy. Loved the chavs visiting the car showroom. Great to see the Polish girls sketch back in there again as well. I think Harry and Paul's satire is so spot on. Hope Bono wasn't watching. He might not be so amused.

I agree with this. I didn't think much of last week's but this week's was much better, even without 'the writer/landlady'.
The intellectual fisherman is good and the Chocolate/shoe/cocktail hawkers are bizarre in that usual Enffield and Whitehouse way. The Bill Nighy playing Hugh Grant was good too.

In the old Harry Enfield series Whitehouse was a 'straight man'. In this he brings a lot of the Fast Show into it and it works well alongside.

I agree with this, although I find it mostly unfunny and I'm not sure why I continue to watch this wretched series. I think it's purely because I enjoy the performances, particularly Paul's. Many of the sketches have been utterly pathetic (IMO) - I'm staggered that people find anything remotely amusing in The Chavs, Queer, Parking Patewayo, to name but three; it's beyond me, although each to their own, obviously.

I suspect if the scripts for any of the shows in this series had been submitted by unknown writers they would have been binned without a second thought. They desperately need new writers.

Best of the series, even without the old Beatles. Some really good stuff.

The lesbian headmistress made me laugh loaRAB. 'Rambling in Swannage' is a smashing euphamism.

And, it was almost 'Harry & Paul & Alice Lowe' last night. She was in every other sketch, it seemed. Not that I mind. We still got a bit of Catherine Shepherd and Laura Solon.

Oh, and that stunning blond in the foreign car aRAB. Does anyone know who she is?

I absolutely loved the first two series, I thought they were extremely funny. Tonight however, I actually found myself irritated, firstly by the repetition of sketches that they've wrung the last drop of humour out of, and absolutely no hoper sketches like the Mr Psycho Bean. What on earth was that anyway? It wasn't funny, it was just.....nothing!

The point is, it's not having a go at the people being talked about as "queer." It's having a go at the bigoted old men and, by extension, those of similar views for (a) making prejudiced assumptions about those who happen to be in the media (b) thinking there is something wrong in being homosexual, as is implicit in their sneering tones, and usage of the pejorative, 'queer,' to describe gays.

Having said that, while the 'He's on telly, he must be queer' phrase might be funny as a throwaway line, continually repeating it makes for a repetitive and not funny sketch, in my opinion.

Great to see Tim Nice-But-Dim in this episode!

I think they keep getting a the chavs sketches a bit wrong in that there should be more of a gap before they come in at the start. where it's totally quiet and normal for a few seconRAB. They're clutching at straws having them in a polling station but at least they could get the 'he's on the register' gag!

The've both lost it in my opinion - and whenever Whitehouse comes on screen on those crap aviva adverts, am i the only one that wishes that i could reach into the tv and punch him in the head?

PS - hello revolver44.

Pure Genius.

Ought to be used as a public information film shown on those TV's in Banks ...

Humiliate the unrepentant institutions and the Government who let them off scot free...:p

But thats another can of worms

Sadly I have to agree.

Bits of it are very good, like the Grumpy Woman in Dragon's Den, and Parking Pataweyo, then it goes right off the boil again :(

I think that this has been the best series yet.

There are some sketches that should never have seen the light of day because of poor pretext.

"Bill Gates and Steve Jobs" - absolute rubbish, glad its gone.

"I saw you coming" doesnt work at all.

Parkie Pat, or whaever it is called. Just seems so out of place.

Also I think that they laboured the shoe/chocolate sketch a bit much last night.

Otherwise, I think it is a great show. :)
