Harry and Paul on BBC2 9:30pm Tue

I just find it amusing. All H & P are doing is having a real dig at our chav society and the stupidity and ignorance of the morons they see around them. Maybe they are labouring the point but it's still a very valid one, and a very welcome sketch for me. OTOH the 'northerner' sketch has become tedious now.

I think they've become more satirical and off-beam these days I just find some of the people who have complained on here are really dumb. Eg those who thought the "He's A Quare" was offensive to gay people.. If Monty Python was new and around now most people here would complain it was stupid and they didn't get it.

Its just a joke and a rather funny one at that. I wish people would just lighten up, its obvious the people they have mentioned in that sketch are straight and its not like their making fun of someone who is gay.

Agreed. I dont find a guy shouting "shut it" at a dog over and over that funny.

No small coincidence that no chav sketch this week and we have easily the best episode of the series so far.

Obviously a few false starts, but I really liked it tonight - lots of laughs.

I didn't watch last week, but did tonight. I thought about fifty percent of the show was good to very good-and the other fifty percent completely unfunny. I liked the Beatles; Dragons Den; Mr Psycho Bean; Parking Pateweyo, and the spoof 70s advert; loved the style of the 40s film noir send up and thought On The Buses meets Dr Who was great! The rest of it, as I said, just left me totally cold. It's rare that I have such a dual response to a sketch show. However, fifty percent of good stuff is enough to get me watching next week.

After literally minutes of thought I have produced this simple formula to determine the "funny quotient" (f) of comedy:

f = ( ( gags x characters ) + ( catchphrases / surrealism) ) / repetition factor

repetition factor: 1 = one showing, 2 = two showings etc...
surrealism(half of one point for each element): men in dresses, women with bearRAB, B&W,etc...
