thank god for extended warranties i have an 09 SEUC and had my head unit replaced in Aug at 18k miles. it's now november with a few more miles and it's time for a new one.

Its the radio. Had my radio replaced on my 07 ultra while still under warranty in Sept of 08. Thank god its still working. I had the same issue with the switches and its not the switches its the radio.

I have a 2007 screaming eagle ultra classic that just started the same thing. From what I have found so far, the radios do not like moisture. I got caught in the rain last week and then the radio sarted to do the exact same thing you are saying. Have you found out what the problem is? The dealer is no help and they are about to lose a loyal customer. The bike has a two year warranty and from what I have heard the radios last just over two years.

I've got the HK in my 06 SG and the display is dead and the CD player is inop. The audio and the tuner still work but with no display you don't know what station you have tuned or mode you are in (AM/FM). I bought the bike used and the previous owner told me the display would resume working in a few days as it always went dead after he used the high pressure car wash hose on it. How smart is that? That was 2 years ago. I need to search out a place to repair the HK as it would be nice to have it working. I have no warranty. Anyone have some advice on where to get the HK repaired at a fair price or is it better to buy another brand replacement unit?

So far my 2007 Ultra's HK radio is working fine, although lately I've noticed my iPod Classic which must be 4 or 5 years old now seems to not last as long on a single charge as it used to. But I think that's probably a function of I've used the H _ _ l out of it versus a radio issue. I've ridden in the rain, washed the bike (although with just a hose, not a "pressure washer.") The dealer has washed it after service too. I'm not really sure how they do it. Might use a pressure washer then. I know they use a blower to dry it. I have it on either CD, FM, or Aux the entire time I'm riding too. Couldn't be w/o my "tunes" on the ride.

my second unit which was installed in november is still working, but at the install time the dealer said my next one would be a refurb. next time i'm just gonna bite the bullet and send to iron cross, that way i wont have to deal with getting my xm switched. i think they get refurbed units for about the same price as it costs to fix these.
