Don't worry about the rear cylinder shutting down.
Worry about the motor getting way too damned hot to begin with.
Worry about your thigh burnin' up.
The only thing that will cure the heat issue will be true duals, and they run about a$ thousand bucks. Tell them to throw them in the deal what ever you do...if you're going to purchase.

I love the shake too but glad it smooths out above idle.

Do the VRods have a shake too? I've never seen one running in person up close. Makes me wonder how many are being sold??

Never listed to the sales staff - they'll tell you anything to get the sale. EITMS on my 09 FLHX only kicked in once this summer & other than the funny sound - vibration/motor shake wasn't much different than w/both firing. Nice feature to have in hot temps, but you can control so hope the previous posts explained function well & the scoot's in your garage, or being ridden...;-)

I thought the " shake " was cool to. It makes my softail seem almost to smooth.
Loved the 6th gear on the freeway to , alotttttt less stress on the motor , compared to my 5 speed.

I like the nice shake at idle.....lol.... As far as the cylinder cutting off that only happens on mine when its real hot outside and I'm sitting still. I can tell when it does it.
