went to the dealer today told them i wanted to try some different tires on my 2006 streetglide i have ben running the dunlops i said what do you think about the metzlers or avon vemons they said harley built that bike for the dunlops WTF sounds crazy anyway can i get some thoughts what do you guys think stay with the dulops or try something else and why thanks

They probably told you that because they probably only sell the Dunlop tires with "Harley-Davidson" written on the sidewalls. Which is the main reason I have continued to use the 402 tire from H-D (the sidewall markings.)

I like the 402's that came stock on My 08 UC. Got almost 18K out of the first set. The only reason I changed them out was that I picked up a nail in the rear, and decided to change the front also. If it were'nt for the nail, I think I could have gotten another 5K as the thread looked real good. Got 12K on my current set and they look great. my rides are about 50/50 city and highway, as well as riding 2up. I will stay with the dunlop's. Handilng and all around performance is excellant.

thats pretty stupid, the MoCo is building bikes for a certain tire...

thats the only brand the dealer sells

if you get things done at the dealer, you are stuck with what they sell

I like 402s just fine, but next set is gonna be E3s for me

I was glad to get my 402 off the rear and run an E3. I got 16 out of my 402 and am about to swap out the front for an E3.. Improved ride and handling.. I know my 402 would have skidded into the car where the stickier E3 stopped me.. Twice..

And Dunlop is Made in the USA...

Have been very happy with e3's and me880's both a good quality tire and way better everything than 402's, oh wait they don't say harley on the side wall.
