I have an 09 tri glide harley davidson. I use synthetic royal purple oil and it is heating up to 277 degrees. Is there anything that I can do to lower the temp.
Just changed the oil. it has 300 miles on it.
it comes with factory oil cooler.
i have 5500 miles on it and power command and Arlines air filter big dog.
live in philly.
factory 103 engine.
I do carry some weight on the back end.
Bike weighs 1450.
6 speed reverse.
Vance and hines slip ons.

That isn't all that hot.. Hot yes, but in a OK range still. You have a full fairing and stuff, right..? Lotta air being blocked from the engine and that big back end don't help either..

I live in Tucson, AZ and ride a 05 Heritage Softail bought new. 250 degrees is easy with my bike and all I have is a quick detach factory wind shield. No oil cooler and 88 cu in engine..

Again, as said here, not knowing where your from and riding temps, it's hard to say if your overheating or not. Out here, with 110' days and 90' nights one expects a air cooled engine to run a tad warm...

Have you asked your local Harley shop what THEY think..?
