Harley davidson battery charging?

I have check the ac voltage output at the alt. I put a new voltage reg in and recharged a new bat. Checking the voltage after charging the bat it reads 12.6. When the bike is running i read 12.9 coming out of the reg. is this enough ? should it read 14.5 ? After the bike sits the battery seems to drain could i have a problem ? Its a 2003 with an electronic lock system . Perhaps i'll put a battery disconnect on and see what happens. What do you think ?

Before you do ANYTHING...please wait until later tonight when I have the time to write more...I can help you diagnose this.....you can email me through my profile with more details if you have any...by the way, what TYPE of charger did you use....HD's AGM batteries REQUIRE a SPECIAL charging procedure, standard chargers will kill an AGM battery....Also its it the original battery?
