or unhealthy to ride? Harley Davidson has ignored the younger riders for years by being too self confident, too stuck up and by not making a fast, sport handling bike.
That's why their sales are down and they are tittering on the edge of bankruptcy.
The older 50-60 year old men are getting too old to ride, or can't ride due to health reasons.
What can Harley Davidson do to repair their relationship to the newer, younger riders?

Well they have probably read some of the things you post here and just do not want any relationships with younger riders as you might show up.
They want the huge bucks that they get from what they build and the dealers want people to bring these machines back in for every service. So they target the group that most likely have the disposable income for this. Very few 22 year old riders can afford to drop $200.00 for an oil change or $800.00 for a scheduled maintenance where the 50 to 60 year old riders can. Few 22 year old riders can afford $34,000.00 for a bike and all the goodies where the older group can. Most 50+ riders have no interest in a sport bike, so they don't build them.
Dealerships get hundreds of "young" riders trailing through every week. Most can't qualify for the credit to buy and the sales people have lost interest in even speaking to them.
You want to buy a Harley? Walk in with the cash to get it done and flash the cash. The sales people will be all over you.
It's called put up or shut up.

Just out of curiosity, what do you ride? You bash Harleys and sports bike riders. One can only surmise that you either ride a bicycle or an automobile. I personally ride a 750 Shadow , but have friends that ride Kawasaki, Harley, and Suzuki. We don't bash the others rides. You wouldn't survive out here with real riders with the attitude you have. And FYI........I am 55 years old and still going strong. I average 3 days a year out of work due to health issues, and have a complete medical checkup twice a year. Older riders are in better physical shape than most younger riders. (the operative word is "rider") Not all older people ride, and that is because they know their limitations.

What planet are you on I think you been to many Shriner parades,They do have sport bikes they just don't make crotch rockets for kids. Go by a ninja and when you get bored with it and get all grown up go by a real bike.

Go easy now, Youngster.

I may not be as good as I once was, but I am as good, once, as I ever was...

Hold on while I find my cane...
