i got back from a 600 mile ride to the street vibrations in reno. what sucked was the hard turns at about 55+ on hwy 50. it felt like the front end was going to fall out from under me. any one else have the same issue or am i just a sissy?

Little more info please. Was the roads rough? Wind Conditions? Age of bike? Did you check tire pressure before you left?

If everything was OK it could be just you was not use to the feel of the bike in this type turn at this speed, or unsure of the handling abilities.

As long as there is nothing wrong with your front end like the bearings and tire pressure, it might have just felt hard. First time in hard turns at this speed? If you was nervous it could have just seemed like a problem.

My first hard turn I was not expecting, and although I was going 5 MH below seed limit into the curve, I felt like I had to keep the bike with me, and held my breath LOL. The next time I was ready for it and still felt funny but not like before. I hit it two more times that day for practice and now it seems like any other curve.

Do your PM checks likes nut/bolts, tire pressure, etc... to elimanate any possible problems.

ill have to go over that. ill let you know if there is a big difference. i was a lil nervous, it was my first real tour. (if u could call it one) and i was trying to keep up with my dad on an ultra classic.

Plot thickens. When ever you feel rushed or when you are trying to keep up you are going to feel clumsy. Even in the cage trying to get somewhere new while running late makes driving difficult.

Never play catch-up. If you get behind he will notice when he looks in his mirror. Next time you ride with someone, or in a group reveiw the route and talk about limitations and concerns. You might even discuss signals such as a single beep on the horn to let him know to slow down, or even take the lead. A group ride should always be the speed of the slowest rider.

When the "group" is only 2, probably, but for larger groups, that often doesn't work out well. Other "plans" usually work out better.

But a big :plus1: on the not trying to keep up with somebody else. :bluethum:
