I have recently got a x-ray for the full length of my back and pelvis. The x-ray clearly shows a 1 inch higher illium on the left side. Also the uneven pelvis is started to cause a mild scoliosis. I cant imagine the amount of pressure on my poor body... like driving with a flat tire, the car wont last long.

I need to correct this uneven pelvis. How can I get it corrected? My chiropractor that took the x-ray wants to see me 3x a week for 5 weeks and then 2x a week for another 5 weeks (25 visits in total). He is going to do adjustments, acupuncture and graston. He said he cant get the spine perfectly straight but he can level the pelvis.

Anyone been through this? Any advice about how to get an uneven pelvis level?

FYI, I'm male, 29 years old and in good shape.

Thanks

You're right it is very hard to correct the uneven pelvis and I would bet money the chiropractor with his 25 appointments won't do it either, not to last anyways.

The muscles are where you need to target and throughout the whole body not just the pelvis. Search a bit harder and I am sure you will find the solution on the net via google.

Before you spend your money on a chiro, I owuld see your GP and ask him to do a general exam and ask him if he sees anything out of the ordinary. You said that the x-ray showed that your pevis is off, but you didn't mention if you have been having discomfort or pain.

I am one of those folks who have a uncomfortable time with chiropractors. In this case, I would like your doctor to recommend that you see him first, before you spend all your money. Often you will only get a few weeks of results, or the results won't hold unless you go every week.

Now there are people who have had wonderful luck with the,-and for them that's great. But first, ask your GP what he thinks...and then go from there...

Like Ibake&pray suggested, I would also suggest starting with your primary care physician.

A one inch difference is significant, and if scoliosis is present you should be under the proper care for it. Chiropractors are wonderful for many conditions, but scoliosis is very serious and can worsen quickly and is therefore nothing to mess around with.

One option would be to get a referral from your PCP to work with a physiatrist who can determine if exercises and other conservative treatments would be enough to help your problem. They will refer you to a spinal specialist if they deem necessary.

Another option would be to get a referral from your PCP to see an orthopedic spine surgeon or neurosurgeon who is fellowship trained. If they recommend surgery, get a second or third opinion. Many of them, however, are able to correct spinal deformities with braces and other methoRAB that are noninvasive.

Best wishes!
