I bought this total piece of garbage since my flashed Q was having coverage issues while travelling. i tried to return it and they said you cant return it if you have used it for more than half an hour. i was stunned. how do you perform a hard reset on this piece of garbage so they wont know how long i have used it. which was like an hour and a half by the way.

no i was hoping there was an easy way to hard reset this thing. im just a beginner but i will try qpst yes thanks. cricket said i have to have used no more than 30 minutes to return the phone, can i reset the minutes used counter in qpst

There should be a way to do a master reset of the phone through the phone menu. I do need to add my comment though. I think it is morally wrong for you to buy a phone for the reason you stated then try to reset it back to like new and return it. In my personal opinion that is theft in many ways. It's like buying a car driving 1000 miles then setting the odometer back and returning the card 2 days later and saying you just don't want it.
Also you might and might not be able to do a reset through QPST or workshop.

I think this is also wrong since I not only own three stores, but I also think it's considered theft. Also since you have already gone to the store there are probably notes on the account, and from what I hear corporate stores can look at you account and see how many minutes you have used since you changed the esn.

they never told me what the warranty was when i bought the phone. never in my wildest imaginings would i think the warranty was half an hour. when i took it back to where i bought it they said we dont deal in returns at all, go to a corporate store. they didnt even look at it. when i went to the corporate store they said we cant help you at all, there are no returns for that phone. what is morally wrong is atrocious customer service. what is morally wrong is for cricket to make a smart phone with a talk life of about an hour. there are no notes on my phone because noone ever tried to help me

theft, you know what this i like, its like buying a car and not talking about the warranty, when the guy comes back the next day you tell him, ya the warranty was 100 miles, you drive it 250 miles, sorry

i did not buy this phone just for the trip i was on, i actually blew up the internet access on my Q trying to put GPS on it i was gonna keep it if it wasnt a total piece. i had to go and get a tmobile account

You aren't returning it because it is defective, you are returning it because you just don't want it. They need to draw the line somewhere. Why do you think they are obligated to take a non defective phone back after you have already used it?

every cell phone company i have ever dealt with allows you to bring back a phone with a month or less of use. verizon, sprint, tmobile. they are basically the same phones sold by cricket, so why the difference. every company i have ever dealt with allows you to return something you dont like. when you get something for xmas you dont like, you return it!!!

maybe cricket could have made a smart phone where you could touch the top rows of letters without the top half of the phone getting in the way

It is not the dealers responsibility to disclose warranties in depth if you do not ask.
cricket allows returns within 30 days it is stated on the website http://www.mycricket.com/support/return-policy but they do have that 30 min cap.
Sprint charges a $35 restock fee 30 days return in like new condition.
VZW does not state anything other than they will accept a return within 30 days. Why did you buy it? You are able to touch hold and look at the phone in the store, that problem should have been noticed.
Unusable would be a defect if unusable meant does not function for the intended purpose...
My final recommendations Sale it privately
eBay
Craigslist.com
local newspaper
or possibly a pawn shop

Have you or anyone else ever bought a new car and SERIOUSLY thought that the warranty would expire after 250 miles? Give me a break.

I would rather pay a $35 restocking fee than be out the total price of the phone. Sprint allows you to return phones regardless of how long you used it, as long as it is in new condition.

Have you not considered those who buy their phone on the cricket website, as I did? What about them? Or it it just tough luck? Does Cricket need to shut down their website now cause new customers CANNOT see and hold the phone the are deciding to buy? I've been a Cricket customer for 2 days now. I'm not liking what I am seeing. As Clark Howard calls it "Customer NO Service".

I love the warranty and return rules. They always make for a great fight. Here let me explain it like this.

I can't get my phone to check my email! I want to return it!
Did you read the user guide? Oh wait that would involve taking a moment to learn and read.

No one told me the return and exchange rules! I am reporting you to the BBB!
Did you read the back of your recepit? EVERY RECEPIT HAS IT ON THEM!

Wait what was i thinking........

Hey now ... I am loving my cricket android. Cricket does suck though... You get what you pay for and they are a cheap service. Thank god for the fabulous price on my cricket ascend....normally a android would be to rich for my pockets.:)

I now have the android ascend. I swear it is the worst phone I have EVER owned. It is a iphone wanna be.

And also cricket's internet is the slowest. It's not even worth having.
