Hello,

I have three lumps centered on my chest/sternum which lie roughly 2.5" below my clavicle. I started with one small lump which has grown in size from the surface area of a dime (with a 1/16" thickness) into three larger lumps, the biggest of which is about 1" in diameter and 1/4" thick. In fact, all three lumps have become much larger than the original dime-sized mass. They can be painful when pressure is applied or something hard lanRAB directly upon them but they also ache moderately (and annoyingly) at seemingly random intervals. On rarer occasions the largest of the three shoots staccato shocks of pain into the surrounding tissue (not into my internal organs).

The lumps seem to be made up of a softer material than bone but feels similar (or slightly softer) than cartilage when squeezed. The masses reside just above the sternum and below (several layers of) skin. Whatever the lumps are made of, it doesn't seem to be firmly attached to the bone(s) below it. Also, two of the lumps have developed small indentations or craters in their centers. There isn't much color variation between the skin surrounding the lumps and the skin on my chest but they do turn white when pressure is applied or over-irritation occurs.

Please feel free to ask any additional questions and/or share knowledge you deem helpful.

This thing is really starting to freak me out.

Thanks!

-Matt

I suggest you should see a doctor. Could be nothing but I'd rather be sure if I were you...
