Well, I would like to thank all of you who contributed to this thread. All the songs helped a lot! (I think I may have found a couple banRAB I might look into as well.) So I might be sending a few private messages. But thanks again, music sometimes is the only thing that makes sense. If you know what I mean by that statement.

Don't know if you're still looking but I've got a few artist recommendations:

Dada - pop/rock with a bit of blues influence, but its mostly light-hearted and care free stuff.

Vampire Weekend - their debut from last year was pretty good. My girlfriend and I decided it was a good pick-me-up album.
