Google is probably one of the bet places to work. I mean have you watched The Internship? Google Normally gives out some great devices for their employees around this time of year. Last year, they got the choice of a Chromebook, a Motorola Phone or a Nexus 7. No Nexus 4 choice because well it was out of stock for about the next 12 weeks. In 2011, Google gave their employees a custom Galaxy Nexus. This year, their employees are getting the choice of a new Nexus 5 or Nexus 7. Which is pretty obvious. Since those are their own products, and they are great for working on Google apps and services on.
The folks over at 9to5Google noticed a family member of an employee discussing it openly. Which is how we are getting this information. So kudos to them. Google hasn’t come right out and said that this is what they’re doing, and we’ve not seen Googlers on Google+ talking about it either. But it does make sense since they do something like this every year. As we said earlier in this post, Google is one of the best employers to work for.
Additionally, this is the first time that both a Nexus phone and tablet were offered to employees via the holiday giveaway. Simply because last year the Nexus 4 was sold out, and the year before the Nexus 7 didn’t exist. Last year, the Nexus 4 didn’t show back up in inventory until around February. So there were quite a few people buying it. However, this year with the Nexus 5, Google has made sure that they had enough stock for everyone. Granted, there is a 2-3 week shipping estimate on Google Play. But as many of us have found out, you’ll actually get your device much sooner. Which is great. I ordered mine on a Monday, when it said 2-3 weeks, and I got it on Thursday. About 3 days later. Not bad at all.
