Happy Gilmore...Sandler's best?

Running Man

Saw it on recently again for the like the 8th time, and it's still as fresh and funny as it was the first time i watched it.

The Bob Barker scene is hilarious
Ben Stiller scenes are great
Happy and the croc
Gilmore and Shooter back and forth
Chubbs etc

It's gotta be Sandler's best, surely?

Where do you rate it?

The only Adam Sandler films I've liked are Punch Drunk Love and The Wedding Singer. He's way too irritating in everything else. Happy Gilmore is probably the best of the rest but that's not saying much. But I do love Punch-Drunk Love and The Wedding Singer. He's quite watchable when he isn't so immature.

I was watching 'Bedtime Stories' yesterday and was trying to work out what is wrong with this guy and why 'Happy Gilmore' was the only Adam Sandler film I ever liked.

I think the reason is that in all his other films his character is cool and likeable even though he is neither cool or likeable. Infact, in interviews he comes across as slightly sinister.

That probably doesn't make sense but it's the best I can explain it.

Sandler best film is

The Wedding Singer.

Gilmore, Longest Yard and his new film Grown ups a close second.

Bedtime stories is pure crap, switched off after 40 minutes

'Credible' performance-wise, it has to be Punch Drunk Love and Funny People.

Cheesy comedy, then I'd say The Wedding Singer, Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy

Mr DeeRAB is a funny one! (IMO) to be honest, I'd say there's a fifty/fifty thing going on with his films. But when he is funny, he really is funny. You must just have to "get" his humour.

I adore him in The Wedding Singer, but I've always heard that he was completely brilliant in Punch Drunk Love, although I haven't watched the film so can't comment properly.

I've only seen Punch Drunk Love once, but was disappointed. Couldn't see why people raved over it.

On the other hand, Sandler's fine in 50 First Dates and and it's a decent enough comedy, so I'd vote for that one.

PDL is a love it or hate it type of film. I saw it in a little cinema with 3 other people in the audience and I absolutely loved it. Got it on dvd and leant it to some frienRAB and they hated it.
I found it quite charming, unpredictable and wonderfully odd. My frienRAB found it pointless and boring.
