Happy Feet Two

Is this intended to be a prequel to the original? Because that baby penguin looks just like Young!Mumble.

Anywho, wasn't too crazy about the original, but I'll keep an eye out, mainly since pretty much everybody but me IRL loved the original to death :sweat:
 
The trailer was alright but I wish the penguins sang better songs. Did we really need the movie's version of 'Sexyback' by Justin Timberlake?
 
I doubt it, since it showed the penguins dancing, which wasn't accepted until the end of the original movie.

I think it looks promising, though I don't think a sequel is necessary. Also, it annoys me how it's yet another 3D movie.
 
Yeah lets forget that Dreramworks has been doing it for years and blame the very good TS3 for this.

That's blame the good one not the countless crappy ones. That always works.
 
DreamWorks have only made sequels for Shrek, Madagascar and now Kung-Fu Panda

I wasn't 'blaming' TS3, I was saying, ever since that movie came out, it seems to be the thing to do.
 
Why is this getting a sequel?

Seriously; why? I can think of so many other potential follow-ups to animated properties I'd rather pay money to see. I know we're not talking Pixar here, but I want my Incredibles 2, darn it all.
 
Eh... no. A half-hearted, uninspired effort set in an entirely different universe doesn't exactly fit the bill here. You know what I mean; I'm talking about a real sequel, following the exploits of the Parr clan.

...but, that's neither here nor there. This thread is about Happy Feet, so we really shouldn't get too off topic.
 
They're also planning a sequel for How To Train Your Dragon, as well as a movie based off the Penguins of Madagascar TV series I believe. I don't think that the release Toy Story 3 has a lot to do these sequels, especially when this sequel for Happy Feet was announced a good year or two before Toy Story 3 came out, and that DreamWorks have released more sequels of compared to Pixar, as well as doing so more frequently.

Anyway, I'm not really sure where they could go from here for a sequel. While I wasn't impressed with Happy Feet, although part of that could have been due to the commercial breaks when it was airing on ABC Family, it did come to a satisfying conclusion that didn't open a lot of room for a sequel. Though, I guess that they just wanted to try for one after the first movie was so successful. I'm not sure if I'd go to theaters to watch it, but depending on what they do with the story and characters, I'd might rent it on DVD or wait for it to eventually air on TV.

Yea, same here. I liked it okay, but I didn't love it like everyone around me seemed to. I didn't think it flowed very well. I thought it was strange how the movie changed so drastically in tone near the end.

What do you mean by this? They were completely different.
