I saw this film last night at an advanced screening. It is very good, up there with SOTL, better than Red Dragon and, of course, Hannibal. Dominic West stole the show as the inspector, he has certainly got a alot of talent. I am amazed he has not made more of an impact over here in his own country, being practically a household name in the states. Gaspard Ulliel also puts in a good performance. You must see this film....

Anyone else seen it?

I agree that the film of Red Dragon was way inferior to SotL, (and I even think Manhunter was vastly over rated - that puts me in the minority, I know). But the Red Dragon book was without doubt the best of the literary series. It was the first, and the most chilling. The Tooth Fairy scared me sh!tless.

I definitely want to see this. Not much of a fan of Hannibal and Red Dragon, but I've got a feelin' I'll like this same as SOTL.

Gaspard Ulliel = hanRABomeness personified.

Saw this on Thursday night - thought it was rubbish. Haven't seen Red Dragon so I can't compare it to that, but I thought it was much, much worse than Hannibal. I wanted to enjoy it, but I just found it really boring, and the 'twist' (
Him eating his sister
) I saw coming from a mile away. Very poor in my opinion :(

its got AWFUL reviews

its rubbish - everyone speaks in really heavy accents its like an episode of allo allo

not remotely scary either

Saw this last night and I'm bitterly dissappointed. I don't see that there was any reason to make this movie apart from trying to make a quick buck.

The Hannibal character was best left 'undeveloped' in a way, because then it was scarier, more psychological and thought-provoking.

I saw this last saturday and wasn't overly impressed by it. It wasn't scary at all considering it is advertised as a horror/thriller.
We left the cinema a bit miffed.
Still, Hot Fuzz this weekend ;)
