Hand Fungus

Xray

I don`t think I have an allergy to latex, I have handled latex before with no problem. But then again, my friend who works at a pharmacy says that an allergy can pop up even after you handled something a hundred times. We do use hand sanitizers at work frequently and I usually am washing my hands with the soap frequently. I`ll have to look at the soap when I go back in to see what kind it is.

I used the gauze today (and found I could still do a couple of things so it turned out to not be as bad as I though but still slows me down). It absorbed all of the cream and when I took it off when I got home, there`s more peeling, but not as bad as what it did yesterday when I took the gloves off. (But at least the pieces peeling off is dry this time.)

Good, glad to hear the guaze worked out for you.

Just going to take time to heal. Since you are working around animals, keep using the anti fungal cream till gets better. You don't need infection setting in from cleaning the cages.

Buy some Betadine from the pharmacy, and paint it on three times a day.

Betadine will kill all types of fungus (some are not sensetive to nystatin) and it will also control and bacteria that are present.

You will need to keep using it for a period after the area looks healed, to keep it from coming back.

To keep your hands dry, you can wear cotton gloves inside your latex gloves.

Ok, I just called the doctor`s office a minute ago in regards to the progress (or regress) of this.

This is day 2 of using the gauze. There`s still peeling going on. More bubbles have formed and I can see that more bubbles will be popping up depending on the angle I hold my hand to light (like I see them under the skin forming). The whole area is bright pink I`m not sure if that`s from the fungal infection or from the amount of peeling that`s going on.

They told me that the peeling is normal. But some places, I can see openings. Like, the kind that you know if it peels there again, it`ll start bleeding. At the same time, some of the old areas (one I call "the ridge") seems to be getting smaller and thinner. So this is like one step forward and one step back kind of deal. They told me to add on neosporin to those areas that may bleed and to see how it does after the weekend.
