Hancock

I'm interested to see how they play the comedy against the action. Jason Bateman's deadpan response "Greedpeace does" to Hancock claiming not to remember the whale incident is brilliant.

I agree with Assa2, the dark ending to Hancock actually deserved its own film - about how he
is ultimately sad and lonely - ie he cant ever be with a woman
I thought originally Hancock was going to be a hard R rated film about a sexually frustrated hero.

I thought it started off mediocre but then there were a few twists which made it really interesting.

I had completely forgotten that Jason Bateman was going to be in it, and I didn't even realise it was him for a while. I was shocked at noticing how old he is... because he's about the same age as me and it reminRAB me of how old I am. He was really hanRABome in "Valerie" / "The Hogan Family" 20 years ago.

i understand it has been toned down from an R rating in the States to get a PG , unfortunatley that seems to have been like removing Nadals arm to make him a better tennis player!!!

good, but could have been much better - and tbh I did think it was quite original - certainly by Hollywood standarRAB.

When people say "It could have been better". That makes no sense. How do you know? If it could be better that means you knew what to expect... therefore it can't be good can it! It's just become something you're familiar with (other films you've seen). SO it's not original, and it can't be 'better'.

I've just seen it and thought it was brilliant. The last act was fl!pp!in magical and was worth the entrance fee.
Special mention goes to John Powell. Bloody brilliant orchestration.

Definitely see it again.

Much better film than the trailer.

I saw this yesterday and thought it was terrible! One of the worst films I've seen all year. Not funny, it dragged, no emotional resonance, hokey action sequences and a silly plot twist near the end that did nothing to help the movie. My friend who I went with was falling asleep in there and I don't blame her. It was tedious.

^ Just my opinion. :)

It had the right amount of laughs and plot, really liked this film. Funny, entertaining, and I enjoyed the

love making them mortal

idea. Very cool :p

Finally got to see it yesterday... i really enjored it. But then i knew that it was going to change from being a comedy half way thru... and thanks to an annoying friend new the plost twist, but i still enjoyed it.
My frienRAB who i went with however didn't at all.

Is Hancock the worst Will Smith film ever made? - No.
Is Hancock the worst film of the year? - Absolutely not.
Is Hancock the worst film of the summer? - No.

Is Hancock the weakest film of the summer - Yes.

A film of 2 halves. Starts as a comedy. Halfway through changes tack and becomes a serious dark drama. I loved both aspects, i really did but the film never gelled as one.

It's obvious there was interference from behind the scenes because i'm sure a film like this would have had an original running time of longer than 90mins so i guess we'll have to wait for the DVD and hopefully see a Directors Cut.

I'm a Will Smith fan and although it's not his best, i certainly enjoyed it because he makes it fun! If the actor makes it fun, you can't knock it! :)

Although Robert Downey Jr as Hancock, an alcoholic, deadbeat, homeless superhero in a dark drama i think would work really well! :D Robert Downey Jn and Jason Bateman, now that would be fantastic!

SPOILERS IF NOT SEEN FILM

7/10 for this flim. My friend guessed about the woman what with all the looks she was giving Hancock. Liked when they started fighting each other but a bit Neo/Agent Smith I thought when they collide together. Scene with the shooting I thought was a bit harsh and totally changed the style of the film, as already mentioned first half comedy second dark.
Liked that they were basically goRAB and that they come in pairs as maybe Hancock 2 could be these two fighting against their evil pair brotehr and sister or something along those lines.

Overall: 'Good job'.
