Hancock - What A Crap Film!

Goodness me. I thought I'd seen some crap films in my time, but I've just finished watching Hancock, and I thought it was the most boring thing I'd seen in a long, long time. I can't think of any reason anyone would like this film, apart from for a couple of special effects. It's completely ridiculous.

Does anyone out there actually like this pile of cack?

I thought it was terrible. An overblown CGI mess.

Peter Berg is a much, much better writer and producer than he is a director - as evidenced by the excellent Friday Night Lights (TV) and Lars and the Real Girl.

I thought it looked so awful just based on the trailers/preview clips I've been avoiding it like the plague. I usually like Will Smith but this looks like such a massive pile of steaming pile of doggie doo-doo.

I was disappointed by the film, but I put it down to the editing, as apparently 40 minutes was edited out of the final print! It could have been a much better film!

I thought it was ok...it's a film of two halves really, the first half has the comedy before it turns more serious in the second half......

You've made a good point there. The comedy in the first half was bearable, but completely disposable. The second half turned it into the biggest wag of bank I've seen in quite a while.

Overall, though, before we got to the "twist" it was already shite, My Chemical Romance.

It seems any movie with Will Smith in it will be huge, nevermind how crap it is. It's like Julia Roberts from the mid 90s to early 00s all over again.

Stars who just appear in crap for the money and they end up in big box office numbers. Ugh!

I liked it but did feel it was a missed opportunity for a really innovative and fresh 'superhero' movie. I think it's cinema release was plagued by bad promotion which made it look like an out-and-out comedy. I too would love to see the missing 40 mins.

All that said, I quite like Alexander (the DVD director's cut), so what do I know?
