You need to get an elastic cuff made specially for hamstring and quadriceps injuries. It will support the muscle and also keep it warm to speed healing. I am using one now for a quadricep problem.

Last summer I pulled my hamstring pretty bad b/w grade 1 and 2. Since then I guess i never gave it adequate time to heal because I normally have dance every friday and stretch there. So since then my hamstring gets very stiff if i'm sitting still for awhile (like long car rides), it also hurts as soon as i begin stretching until I "stretch past it" or get warm enough for the muscle to loosen up. Recently, for no reason (no pops or tears) my hamstring has been hurting more than normal. I started icing it last week but I think that's the wrong choice since it's an old injury. What to do??? I really need my leg to heal because I'm losing flexibility (can't do right split) and competition season is approaching! So do i need to use a heating pad all the time and if so with my leg wrapped up or what? Also what are the best methods for the leg to heal the quickest?
