Okay, in the final level, or next to final rather, Dr. Halsey gives Noble Six Cortana, to take to the Pillar of Autumn, he gives it to Keyes who takes it aboard the PoA. But in the books, Master Chief and Cortana had already been aqcuainted ON Reach.
Also, in Halo Reach Dr. Halsey implies that Cortana is part of the Forerunner Glacier Structure, a caretaker or something, but in Fall of Reach Cortana was merely her AI assisstant, also a flash clone of Halsey's brain, who had lots of knowledge, which is why she was important to keep from the Covenant. But in Halo Reach,she was kept from the Covenant because she was important to the discovery of the Forerunner Structure, but this couldn't be true, as in Halo Combat Evolved, she says shes making a random jump that lead away from Earth, even though we learn she was following coordinates on the Forerunner thing, and it seemed if she was really of Forerunner Technology descent, that she would have known that the coordinates would lead to the Halo Installation 04.
Halo Reach is an awesome game, with an awesome ending, and Dr. Halsey at the end telling you that thanks to you, UNSC defeated the Covenant very soon after. That was a positive moment because I was never sure if in Halo 3 the Covenant were finally defeated.
